JUSTIN ASHLEY CLAIMS POINTS LEAD WITH TEXAS FALLNATIONALS WIN
ENNIS, Texas - Justin Ashley and his SCAG Power Equipment Toyota Top Fuel dragster team secured their fourth win of the season at the Texas NHRA FallNationals, defeating Clay Millican in the final on a holeshot. Despite starting from the No. 12 spot due to Yom Kippur observance, Ashley achieved a 3.772-second pass at 327.99 mph with a .026-second reaction time, beating Millican’s 3.726 at 328.40 with a .059 reaction time.
Ashley praised his team’s resilience under challenging circumstances, crediting CEO Randy Gloede, President Maria Oldenburg, and crew chiefs Mike Green and Tommy DeLago. He noted the team’s unity and dedication, particularly given limited qualifying time and a lack of lane choice.
Earlier, Ashley defeated points leader Antron Brown, then Shawn Langdon, who had a blower explosion, and finally eight-time champion Tony Schumacher, securing his spot in his 25th career final. With two races left, Ashley now leads the Top Fuel standings by 44 points over Brown and 76 over Langdon. He emphasized the need to remain focused, with upcoming races in Las Vegas and Pomona deciding the championship.
