Herrin Extends Lead at Laguna Seca
Josh Herrin had a dramatic yet successful weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, where he extended his lead in the 2025 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship. After a high-speed crash on Friday that destroyed his primary Ducati Panigale V4 R, Herrin bounced back impressively thanks to a rebuilt backup bike from the Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati team. He went on to win Saturday’s race one, capitalizing on a crash from rival Cameron Beaubier.
With Laguna Seca hosting a triple-header format, Herrin followed up his win with two second-place finishes in Sunday’s races, once again battling closely with Bobby Fong. Despite not taking the top step again, his consistent performance allowed him to widen his lead in the standings to 31 points over Beaubier.
Reflecting on the weekend, Herrin praised his team for their support and emphasized the importance of staying consistent and avoiding unnecessary risks, especially with his family present. With 224 points after round five, Herrin heads to Virginia International Raceway (August 1–3) aiming to maintain his momentum and keep pushing toward another championship title.
