Time-Serts are a type of threaded insert used to repair or reinforce stripped or damaged internal threads in metal parts (for example engine blocks or housings). A Time-Sert is a solid bushing of high-strength steel with external and internal threads. The external threads anchor the insert firmly in the hole while the internal threads restore a correct thread size for a fastener. Time-Serts are known for being stronger and more durable than some other insert types, because they have full engagement of internal threads and a solid body instead of a coiled wire form.
